After a long break in the Sri Lankan sports community, Sri Lankan Chess Federation has organized the 7th Grand Prix with the participation of the top 10 players and also two other players.
♔ 7th Sri Lankan Grand Prix 2020 ♚
Only sport that was active during the COVID-19 time period was chess. After the Corona threat decreases, The Chess Federation of Sri Lanka has organized the 7th Sri Lankan Grand Prix. It was started on 11th July 2020, according to the rules and regulations offered by health authorities. The tournament will end on 19th July.
It is a leading event in the Sri Lankan chess calendar and below players have participated in that tournament.

At this moment (after the 6th round) candidate master, L M S T De Silva is leading with 5.5 points.
The Chess Federation has offered Rs. 50,000/= for the Champion with a total of Rs. 115,000/- prize fund with trophies and Medals. The prize distribution will be held just after the final round with the awards ceremonies of the CFSL online Internet base Chess events and the CORONA Virus Checkmate events.
